The Ohio author will meet readers and sign copies of his debut book, Whispers on the Swing, during the world's largest publishing trade fair.
Canada, September 6, 2026 -- Keith A. Hartzler will make his Frankfurter Buchmesse debut this fall, introducing readers to his first book, Whispers on the Swing, during two public signing events at the internationally recognized publishing exhibition.

Hartzler is scheduled to appear Oct. 9 and 10 at The Maple Staple Booth, Hall 5.1, Stand D86, where visitors will have an opportunity to meet the author, discuss the inspiration behind his work and receive signed copies of the book.
The Frankfurter Buchmesse, taking place Oct. 7-11, has long been regarded as a meeting place for the global publishing community. Publishers, authors, translators, literary agents, booksellers and librarians gather each year in Frankfurt to showcase new titles, negotiate publishing rights and discover emerging voices from around the world. Alongside industry business, the fair also welcomes thousands of readers through public programs that connect audiences directly with authors.
For Hartzler, the event represents the first international showcase for a book that grew out of years of personal reflection rather than a plan to write a traditional devotional. Whispers on the Swing is built around conversations that encourage readers to slow down, examine their faith and approach prayer with honesty instead of perfection.
The collection does not attempt to answer every spiritual question. Instead, Hartzler writes about the value of asking those questions in the first place. His reflections encourage readers to set aside the pressure to have complete certainty and instead focus on building a sincere relationship with God through everyday conversations, quiet moments and personal contemplation.
The title draws inspiration from childhood, when conversations often happened without hesitation or self-consciousness. Hartzler revisits that image to suggest that faith can flourish when people are willing to speak openly, admit uncertainty and remain receptive to spiritual growth. Throughout the book, he returns to themes of grace, hope, humility and trust without presenting them as rigid lessons. The result is a collection intended to invite reflection rather than prescribe conclusions.
Hartzler has lived in Wayne County, Ohio, for nearly four decades after growing up in nearby Orrville. Outside his writing, he has remained active in his local church as an acoustic guitarist and worship team leader at Journey Church of Northeast Ohio. Music has been a consistent part of his life, and that influence carries into his writing, which favors a conversational tone over formal instruction.
Although Whispers on the Swing is his first published book, Hartzler said the ideas behind it developed over many years of worship, personal experiences and private reflection. His goal was to write something approachable for readers who may be searching for encouragement, revisiting their faith or simply looking for a thoughtful perspective on spiritual life.
His appearance at the Frankfurter Buchmesse places the book before an international audience during one of publishing's most visible annual events. The fair continues to serve as a venue where first-time authors and established writers alike introduce new work to readers from across the globe.
Visitors attending the exhibition can meet Hartzler during his scheduled appearances on Oct. 9 and 10 at The Maple Staple Booth. Whispers on the Swing is also available through Amazon.

The marketing of classical music concerts has increasingly focused on the musician rather than the music, with the often ephemeral cult of personality perceived as more valuable than the notes they play, at least in drawing an audience. So, it was refreshing to hear the fine young musician John Lee play. After studying at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, where he is now a member of the faculty, Lee earned a master’s degree from the Royal College of Music in London with distinction and...

From cherry and banoffee pie to Tabasco and sesame, the list of food aromas popping up in luxury fragrances keeps growing. Now some perfume makers are starting to ask if weight-loss drugs might be reshaping what consumers want in a scent. So-called gourmand fragrances like Thierry Mugler’s pioneering candyfloss-inspired Angel and Nina Ricci’s toffee apple scent Nina have been around for decades. More recent growth in the segment has been attributed to the Covid-19 pandemic-era boom in online...

The history of the betel nut, also known as the areca nut, stretches further back than previously thought. New research suggests that people on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi were enjoying its mind-altering effects as long as 25,000 years ago. The discovery began with two ancient skeletons whose teeth bore curious, deep grooves. Australian archaeologists suspected these were the result of repeatedly sucking on whole betel nuts. Chemical analysis subsequently detected traces of arecoline, the...
Widely known as Sam the Cooking Guy, Sam Zien is an enthusiastic proponent of sweet potatoes. He loves mashing them and seasoning with miso, butter and chopped spring onions. Or he cubes, boils and roasts the sweet potatoes, then adds a generous dollop of lemon yogurt, with sprinkles of dukkah, a mixture of chopped nuts and sesame seeds, seasoned with cumin, coriander and salt. Another way is to add sweet potatoes to quesadillas with Mexican chorizo, a highly seasoned fatty pork sausage, and...
As winter draws closer in some places and darker mornings become part of the daily routine, getting out of bed can feel more difficult than ever.
