Sep 16, 2026
Brisbane Plumbing & Gas is rebranding to OctoPlus Plumbing & Gas, continuing residential plumbing, gasfitting and hot water services for Brisbane households.
Brisbane, Australia, September 16, 2026 -- Rebrand marks new chapter for family-run plumbing business
Brisbane Plumbing & Gas has announced its rebranding to OctoPlus Plumbing & Gas, effective 16 September 2026. The family-run residential plumbing and gasfitting business, based in Morningside, Queensland, will continue to serve Brisbane households under the new name while maintaining its existing phone number and service area.
OctoPlus owner Billy Muir (centre) poses with his two sons and some newly wrapped OctoPlus vehicles.
The rebrand introduces a new name, a new mascot named Ollie the octopus, and brightly coloured vehicle wraps. The company states that the change is intended to distinguish it from other businesses with similar names and to reflect its ongoing commitment to customer service. OctoPlus Plumbing & Gas will continue to provide plumbing, gasfitting, hot water, drain-clearing, water filtration and pre-purchase plumbing inspection services across central Brisbane suburbs.
Background
The company traces its origins to 2005 and has operated as a family-run business for more than two decades. It is led by owner Billy Muir, with his sons working as apprentices and Natalie managing customer bookings and scheduling. The team focuses on residential service work, including maintenance and repairs for taps, toilets, burst pipes, gas appliances, hot water systems, blocked drains, waste disposal units and water filters.
According to the company, the rebrand reflects a desire to stand out in an industry with a mixed reputation. The business aims to be remembered for service, value and honest advice. Under the OctoPlus brand, the company is introducing a "we pay you if we're late" promise and a complimentary small job on every service call, which it calls an "extra plus". It also offers two-hour arrival windows, fixed pricing options, a no-pressure approach and a "track my plumber" app.
New services and membership program
OctoPlus Plumbing & Gas has introduced a range of fixed-price services, including check-ups for hot water systems, gas cooktop repair, blocked drains and pre-purchase property plumbing inspections. The company has also launched the Plus Club membership program, which provides households with 15% discounts on services, priority scheduling, annual home health checks and gas-safety inspections.
Existing Brisbane Plumbing & Gas customers can continue to contact the business using its established phone number, (07) 3523 1888. The service area includes Morningside, Bulimba, Hawthorne, Cannon Hill, Camp Hill, Coorparoo, Balmoral, Norman Park and Seven Hills, along with other central Brisbane suburbs. The company's website outlines services, service areas and online booking options at calloctoplus.com.au.
