Foreign Direct Investment Into Türkiye Reaches USD 13.1 Billion as Global Investors Rebalance Their Portfolios

Türkiye recorded USD 13.1 billion in international direct investment inflows during 2025, while Bayraktar Attorneys highlights the legal considerations accompanying increased cross-border investment and evolving commercial ties with international markets.
Turkey, September 8, 2026 -- ISTANBUL, Türkiye – September 7, 2026 – International direct investment inflows into Türkiye reached USD 13.1 billion in 2025, representing a 12.2% increase from the previous year, according to figures compiled by the Presidency of Türkiye’s Investment Office using Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye balance-of-payments data.
The figures brought cumulative international direct investment inflows since 2003 to more than USD 288 billion, highlighting continued cross-border legal activity.

Türkiye’s investment environment is also developing alongside its commercial relationships. Negotiations to expand the Türkiye–United Kingdom Free Trade Agreement had completed five rounds by mid-2026, according to information cited by the Turkish-British Business Council. Progress was reported in discussions involving legal services, while bilateral trade reached GBP 28.4 billion by the fourth quarter of 2025.
Cross-border activity can involve real estate acquisitions, citizenship and residence procedures, commercial structuring, contracts and regulatory compliance.
