Salvo Metal Works Expands Production to Meet Chimney Shroud Demand

Salvo Metal Works has expanded production capacity at its Naperville facility, increasing fabrication output for architectural copper and stainless steel custom chimney shrouds.

Naperville, United States, September 9, 2026 /PressCable/ -- Salvo Metal Works has expanded production capacity at its Naperville, Illinois fabrication facility to meet increasing demand for made-to-order architectural metal installations. The expansion accelerates output across the full line of Custom Chimney Shrouds, helping residential builders, architects, and property owners secure precision-engineered chimney covers without extended lead times.

Chimney shrouds serve critical functional and structural roles for residential roofing systems. Unlike standard off-the-shelf chimney caps, custom shrouds are built to exact chase and flue specifications to shield chimneys from harsh exterior elements. Unprotected chimney tops remain vulnerable to moisture penetration, snow accumulation, and animal intrusion, which can lead to interior flue blockages, structural deterioration, and costly repairs. Salvo Metal Works designs each shroud to channel water away from the stack, arrest escaping embers, and optimize chimney draft performance by reducing downdrafts and turbulent airflow.

The increased manufacturing capacity supports production across eleven signature shroud and pot designs, including popular architectural models such as the vented #600 Shroud, the high-draft #606 Chimney Pot, and the heavy-duty #608 exterior system. Every shroud is fabricated in-house using heavy-gauge, weather-resistant materials tailored to specific architectural styles and climate conditions:

Architectural Copper: Provides natural resistance to weathering and corrosion while gradually developing a distinct, maintenance-free patina.

Stainless Steel: Delivers high tensile strength and rust resistance for modern aesthetic finishes and severe climates.

Galvanized and Aluminized Steel: Balances durability with structural heat resistance for heavy-duty venting environments.

Powder-Coated Metal Finishes: Adds a layer of defense against ultraviolet degradation while matching specific exterior trim palettes.

Each unit is fabricated to fit multi-flue arrangements, unique crown dimensions, and custom chimney chase configurations. Integrated mesh screens prevent pest entry and satisfy local building clearance standards without choking ventilation.

With expanded workshop capabilities and streamlined fabrication workflows, Salvo Metal Works continues to supply handcrafted architectural metalwork for custom homes, historic restorations, and residential developments across the country. Technical consultations, custom specifications, and ordering details are available through the Salvo Metal Works Custom Chimney Shrouds catalog.
