In WUI zones, vent selection should be based on tested and listed performance, not product appearance or general "fire resistant" labels. In the first stage, the passive ember protection comprises a fine stainless steel mesh that resists ember-sized particles entering the vent under normal operating conditions while maintaining full airflow through the opening.
