Better Payments Solutions has updated its cash discount payment program, giving U.S. small businesses a compliant, zero-fee alternative to traditional credit card processing.

Oswego, United States, September 11, 2026 /NewsNetwork/ -- Better Payments Solutions has updated its payment program, giving U.S. small businesses a legal path to eliminate merchant credit card processing fees. The program uses a cash discount model: customers who pay with cash receive a discount, while card transactions include a corresponding price adjustment that offsets the processing cost.

Credit card processing fees typically run between 1.5% and 3.5% per transaction, according to NerdWallet, a cost that adds up quickly over a full year of sales. Better Payments Solutions' program addresses this through a dual-pricing structure: customers who pay cash see a discounted price at checkout, while the standard listed price applies to card transactions, effectively offsetting the processing cost without removing card acceptance as an option.
As the company explains, the solution is built to work across different sales environments, whether a business operates a physical storefront, an online store, or a combination of both, and supports contactless payments, e-commerce gateways, and point-of-sale systems. Since it integrates with existing POS setups, businesses are not required to replace their current payment infrastructure.
Implementation includes personalized onboarding, POS setup guidance, employee training, and checkout signage that explains the dual-pricing structure to customers, along with round-the-clock live support after launch. Cash discount programs are legal in all 50 states and do not require advance registration with card networks. Some states have additional transparency requirements: Maine and New York, for example, require that both cash and credit prices be displayed to customers before purchase, the firm notes.
Better Payments Solutions says businesses using the program save an average of $7,500 per year in processing costs, while higher-volume merchants may see savings of up to $100,000 annually depending on transaction volume. The company adds that eliminating those recurring fees allows businesses to retain more revenue while continuing to accept card payments alongside cash.
The update reflects Better Payments Solutions' continued focus on helping small businesses manage the cost of accepting card payments. The program pairs the cash discount model with POS integration and ongoing support, with the aim of making fee elimination practical for business owners without disrupting day-to-day operations.

2/5 stars In Michihito Fujii’s romantic drama You, Like a Star, Suzu Hirose and Ryusei Yokohama play young lovers trapped in a turbulent, decades-spanning relationship that defines their lives. Adapted from the novel by Yuu Nagira, who provided the source material for the actors’ last on-screen collaboration, Wandering (2022), the drama touches on intriguing and volatile topics without ever daring to broach them fully.
